It has been brought to my attention through an associate that an employee of LCHS is offended by a comment in my blog in which I refer to the waste of money and environmental impact of having four gas guzzling trucks driving around the neighbourhood “waiting for the big call.”
According to the employee there is “mostly only one” and sometimes two gas guzzling truck on the road at this time as the employees are too busy to be out on the road “waiting for the big call”. The trucks and employees apparently are not cruising the neighbourhoods of Thorold, Grimsby, Beamsville and St Catharines as they have for years in the past but rather are “just driving from one call to another as there is no time do do anything else”. On a Friday afternoon there may be three trucks on the road for about two hours.” “Everyone is too busy to be waiting for any big calls.”
I stand corrected.
It has also come to my attention via a posting on the LCHS FB page, (since deleted by the author from what I understand) and confirmed by this employee the public is seriously outraged with the present situation at LCHS. Apparently shouts of “kitten killer” have been fired at employees.
It is not me with whom you should be offended, it is not the public you should be complaining about. The comments are tasteless and insensitive yes, but so is killing kittens , cats, dogs any healthy treatable animal, especially in an inhumane manner. It is unfortunate that times are tough for you right now. But you know what? 20,000 cats in the last seven years had a tougher road. Here’s the thing, we are not the enemy, on the contrary we are busting our backsides to save some animals and make your place of employment one that is healthy, enjoyable and rewarding. Your enemies are the present Board of Directors and your BOSS that continues to stand in the way of a proven business model that is guaranteed to save lives and to make your life a whole lot better. It is these people that are preventing VOLUNTEERS and EMPLOYEES from becoming members so they are unable to vote in order to make changes.
There is a saying, you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Be a part of the solution, help us to expose the tyrannical environment in which you are working. Tell people about the unfair “write ups”, the revolving door of employees, how Vets and Vet Techs run screaming from that place. If you want to save animals rather than continue to kill with abandon, then we are on your side and will work with you to be the solution. If however like your boss and his boss, the Board of Directors you are still mired in the misconception that No Kill is not a viable option, then you are part of the problem and frankly you deserve every nasty remark shouted at you.
